Poem-7
From, The Passing Of The Author          - Alfred Lord Tennyson
                                                                                                      (1809-1892)
Central Idea
“Every man should welcome change in life.”
“Prayer is very important and highly powerful.”
“Changement is the second name of life”
            The poem “The Passing Of Author’ expresses poet’s firm faith in God and prayer.
                                  In It King Arthur has given valuable advises to be diver who has a knight of the round table and a faithful companion of the king.
                                  The king says that change is the law of life. He could not be sorry for the old system. However noble and good a system maybe, It will corrupt the world if it continues for a long time.
                                  So he should not be sad but pray to god for the peace of  kings soul. Prayer is the best thing on earth. Those who do not pray to god are not better than animals. Prayer is a link that binds us by golden  chains with the feet of God.
   Explanation

Reference: These lines have been taken from the poem “The Passing Of Author” composed by Alfred lord Tennyson, A great poet of Victorian age.
Context: Here king author consoles sir Bedivere and  tells him the value of religious life.
Explanation: King Arthur says  that A man has mind but animal does not have such great mind. The people
                   He tells him about prayer and its effect on life. He says that prayer has a great power
Saying this king Arthur tells him that now he has to go and you to live here. And he moves on his way.

Note: These lines describes the firm faith in God.

  Poem-8
My Heaven            - Ravindra Nath Tagore
                                                                                                             (1856-1877) 
                                                                        Central Idea
                 “In free India people should know the value of freedom and live with piece and pleasure.”
My Heaven by R. N. Tagore is an inspiring poem. In it the poet gives the picture of an ideal India of his dream. He prays to God that the people of his country should be fearless and brave. Knowledge should be free for all in the country.
There should not be narrow divisions of caste, religion, creed and language. The people should be guided by religion and not by blind belief. They should be progressive in out look.
They should try to keep the country united. They should be blessed with freedom.
Note: In this poem the poet says that motherland is greater than heaven.

Reference: These lines have been taken from the poem ‘My Heaven’ composed by R.N. Tagore, A Great Noble Prize Winner.
Context: Here the poet appeals the God to make his country great in all fields. They should get freedom soon in their life.
Explanation: The poet says that the people of free India should be progressive in thought and action. They should be guided by reason not by blind faiths.
               He says that the clear stream of reason should not flow through the desert of old customs and traditions otherwise the reason would be lost. People will become backward and superstitious. They will not achieve success in life. He also thinks that everyone should be ready to follow new knowledge and skill by the grace of God.
Thus everyone will make progressive in life and enjoy the joy of freedom. The poet imagines that the picture of free India should be wonderful and matchless.

                                     Stopping by woods on a snowy evening                  - Robert Frost
                                                                                                                               (1875-1969)
                                                                   Central Idea
               In this poem the poet starts with a fine narration about the woods. He tells us about the situation that is related to the life of an ordinary man.
But soon he moves on the philos direction. It shows a relation between the call of beauty and the
Call of duty. The dark woods are filling up with coldness of snow. They are also a symbol of death. They warn the people but the man has a strong attraction for it.
The poet is also attracted by the natural beauty (Maya) of  dense forest. But soon he thinks that he should not enjoy it as he has to face the needs and demands of life. Thus life wins over death.

Reference: These lines have been taken from the poem ‘Stopping by woods on a snowy evening’ composed by ‘Robert Frost’, The Greatest American Poet.
Context: Here the poet stops by woods to admire the beauty of nature on a snowy evening. But he feels that his horse does not like his unsafe place.
Explanation: The poet says that his little horse (mind intellect) is very anxious about his stay in the forest. The situation is very dangerous. The snow is falling constantly. On one side there are woods filling up with snow. On the other side there is lake that is frozen due to cold and snow. There is no form -house to take shelter.
He is unable to save himself from danger of the evening. After some time it would be too late to save life. The horse has a natural power of the instinct which warn him of danger.

                                                    The Song Of The Free                      -Swami Vivekanand
                                                                        Central Idea
               In this poem the poet has expressed his faith in the divine character of human soul. A man who believes in God, is not afraid of all the world’s pain, troubles and failure.
               He knows that Godhood is the goal of human life. He should march forward to achieve it. He should leave his right path.
In fact, the ups and downs of life give him a chance to show his best powers.
Note: The poet believe that God is great and a man should have faith on him as well as his soul.

Reference: These lines have been taken from the poem ‘The Song Of The Free’ composed by ‘Swami Vivekanand’, A Great Indian Philosopher.
Context: Here the poet tells us about the reactions of an injured snake and lion.
Explanation: The poet says that on being harmed, the wounded animals react with anger and power. A wounded snake raises its hood to attack the person.
               On being disturbed a simple flame bursts into a big fire. The lion roars in anger and his sound fill in the desert. They don’t loose courage even in their troubles.
Note: Here the poet explains that every action has its reaction in the world.

Context: Here the poet tells us about those honors that may appear before us in life.
Explanation: The poet advises us that we should not be afraid of when our eyes get weak or the heat it loose it power. He further says that we should not be nervous about a faithless friend or unfaithful lover.
               He encourages us to stand bravely and face all the troubles of life. A man should not be afraid of his ill-fate. He wants us to march on bravely and never cares for the danger of life.
Note: Every man has divine soul so he should not loose courage before the tears and troubles of life.
