कवि सोचता है - मेरा बचपन कब गया?
क्या तब गया जब मैं 11 साल का था, जब मुझे पता चला कि स्वर्ग और नर्क किताबों में नहीं, सच में नहीं हैं, झूठ है? बड़ों ने बताया था स्वर्ग नर्क होता है, पर सच नहीं।
क्या तब गया जब मुझे पता चला कि बड़े लोग जैसा कहते हैं वैसा करते नहीं, झूठ बोलते हैं? वे प्यार की बात करते हैं पर खुद प्यार नहीं करते, धोखा देते हैं?
क्या तब गया जब मुझे पता चला कि मेरा दिमाग खुद सोच सकता है, मैं खुद फैसला कर सकता हूँ, किसी की बात मानने की जरूरत नहीं, मैं खुद चुन सकता हूँ?
कवि को पता चला कि बचपन चला गया है, अब वह बड़ा हो गया है, पर बचपन कहाँ गया? शायद कहीं छुपा है, किसी बच्चे के चेहरे में, किसी की मासूमियत में।
कविता सिखाती है कि बचपन मासूमियत है, सच मानना, पर बड़े होने पर झूठ, धोखा, खुद सोचना आता है, बचपन खत्म हो जाता है।
